How to Play Backgammon Pro

Every roll opens a puzzle — block, hit, escape, and race your pieces home while a sharp neural-network opponent keeps you honest at any skill level. Whether you are picking up backgammon for the first time or protecting a hard-earned ELO rating, there is a difficulty setting and a game mode built for exactly where you are.

Choose your difficulty level — Easy for learning, Hard for a real fight
Select Trial Game to practice freely or Scored Game to put your ELO on the line
Roll the dice, then tap the piece you want to move and pick a highlighted point
Use the doubling cube to raise the stakes, or accept your opponent's double if the position is worth it
Bear off all your checkers before your opponent does to win the game

Controls

Tap a piece to select it and tap a valid destination point to move; if you want to rethink, use the Undo option to try a different line before committing.

Scoring

Scoring follows the official ELO system — every game or match shifts your rating up or down, and a worldwide leaderboard shows exactly where you stand against other players.

When does a round end?

A round ends when one player successfully bears off all 15 checkers; a gammon or backgammon can multiply the result if the doubling cube rules are active.

Tips & Tricks

Turn on 'Show possible moves' while learning — it reveals every legal destination for a roll so you can focus on strategy rather than rules
Play Trial Games when you want to experiment with aggressive doubling-cube decisions without risking your ELO rating
Check the real-time probability display before accepting a double — if your winning chances have dipped below 25 %, dropping the cube is often the right call

Backgammon is a board game where two players compete to get all their 15 pieces off the board before the opponent. Board pieces move based on dice throws.
