How to Play Mahjong Solitaire

Every level drops you into a satisfying rhythm of spotting pairs, clearing the board, and watching a unique scene emerge beneath the tiles. If you enjoy quiet, focused puzzle sessions that you can pick up and put down at your own pace, this one is built for you.

  1. Open the level browser and choose any of the 310 available layouts
  2. Study the stacked tiles and find two identical, unblocked ones
  3. Tap or click a matching pair to remove them from the board
  4. Work through the layout until the board is completely clear
  5. Use the Level Editor to build your own puzzle and share it with friends

Controls

Select a tile with a click or tap, then click or tap its matching pair to remove both. Only tiles that are free on at least one side and not covered from above can be selected.

Scoring

Progress through 310 levels in sequence or browse freely — your goal each round is a clean board, so every pair you clear is a step closer to that satisfying finish.

When does a round end?

A round ends when you clear every tile from the board, or when no more valid matching pairs remain uncovered.

Tips & Tricks

  • Start from the top of the stack — removing upper tiles opens up more options below before you get boxed in
  • Scan for tiles that appear only twice across the whole board first; those pairs have no flexibility and must be matched in a fixed order
  • When two identical tiles are both accessible, pause before matching them — freeing one may unlock a more urgent pair elsewhere
  • If you want a longer challenge, browse levels by their layout shape in the level browser rather than playing strictly in order
